Yeah, great advice. In fact, in Kihei and some other areas right now they are burning the sugarcane on Maui. There was a major fallout – ash everywhere blanketing cars, streets, trees, etc. When the wind isn’t blowing right, everything is covered and the smoke is worse. I lived on the west side of Maui and we had little problem with it. Those living in Kihei and Wailuku would deal with it more.

We vacationed in Maui & Kauai 2 1/2 years ago and fell in love with Maui. Our daughter did not experience any respiratory problems or asthma attacks during the almost 2 weeks there.

Advise one researches the nine months of cane burning on Maui if you have respiratory issues.
